The fuel filter is one of the most important elements of the fuel system, which directly affects the proper operation of the tractor. The main task of the filter is to clean the fuel from mechanical impurities and organic micro impurities. Fuel filters are divided into two main groups due to their application, and thus we will use a different type of filter for a gasoline engine than for a diesel engine. Regardless of the type of fuel, the filter material is different types of paper based on polyester or cellulose fibers with added synthetic fibers.
A dirty fuel filter restricts the free flow of fuel to the engine and can cause starting problems or cause intermittent engine operation. Occasionally, a clogged fuel filter will cause a loss of engine power or result in higher fuel consumption.
