A sealing ring, also known as a Simmer ring (named after its inventor), is typically made from rubber or other plastics that meet the required technical specifications. It is used to seal rotating elements of a system with a maximum internal pressure of up to 0.1 MPa, usually submerged during operation in a bath of lubricants, gasoline, or water.
